Long-awaited electric sports car rolls out - CNN.com

Long-awaited electric sports car rolls out - CNN.com:

"After several years of development, the Roadster -- with sleek lines like a Ferrari or Porsche and a sticker price of $109,000"

Umm, what reasoning do you have to use to buy this car? It costs over 100k, and the battery life can last for only 100,000 miles. A dollar per mile is probably not as bad as it sounds, but that means on average you pay 20,000$/year to drive this carbon-fiber car! With a fully-charged battery, you can drive 225 miles. Then, you will have to recharge it again for 3.5h before you can drive another 225miles.

What will happen next after the battery dies out? Do you have to throw the car away? What will you do with tons of Lithium ion battery? Will we end up building anther hazard waste and dump it somewhere like "DEVELOPING COUNTRIES"?
