The BMW began to rotate and collided its right side with a red Toyota Tacoma heading northbound. The BMW rotated clockwise a quarter turn and came to rest on its wheels facing west. The Toyota rotated a quarter turn clockwise, rolled a quarter roll, and came to rest on its left side.

The passenger in the BMW died at the scene. Three people were flown by helicopters and two people were taken by ambulance to area hospitals with moderate to serious injuries. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected."

Amazon just launched a new reading tools. You pay for the equipment, buy the book online, and read at your convenient. However, you don't have to carry tons of books at a time. Just this one 10.3 ounces e-book. The price for the equipment is still expensive 400$, but it includes the WIFI price anywhere in the US. You still have to pay for your books, though. I am still not sure whether you can read other things not sold on Amazon bookstore or not. At least, you are connected to Wikipedia. You can carry some pictures and e-mail with this AmazonKindle. From Marcus Welby to Grey's Anatomy: The Next Generation: This seems to be what is going to happen in the next 20 years. As 1/3 of the current medical doctor will retire, the new generation is likely to work less, with more limited hours of work. Part-time jobs will become more common, but no one might want to take it. Unless they increase the numbers of physicians, it is likely that the US will probably have to face the the period with insufficient physicians again. The salary will increase. Then, more doctors will become greedy. The young will realize that they need to make more money, and everything should be restored to normal. This should not be a big problem. US should be fine. If they are worried, import more doctors from India, Pakistan, Albania, etc.

How long did you stay at Harvard before going to the University of Utah, and why did you choose to move there?
From 1961 to 1967, I was in Jim Watson's lab. After that I got a job at Harvard Medical School in the department of biochemistry. So that was until 1973, and then I decided to go to Utah. The reason for going was mixed. I felt that the department was not bringing in enough young people. It had very good people, but it was sort of on the decline because there were not any new people coming in. Another factor was that I thought I wanted to work on more long-term projects. At Harvard, it was difficult to do that because there was enormous pressure to produce very quickly and have new results every day. The kind of work that I wanted to go into might take quite a few years to do and then develop. So that was not a good environment to do those sorts of things. The third factor was that in the particular department that I was in, even though they were very good scientists, they actually did not get along very well. They spent a lot of time insulting each other. That was not a healthy environment. I mean, the only reason that people are in science is because they enjoy it, and it is important to have a pleasant environment. I decided to make a big jump. I had a friend that persuaded me to visit him in Utah. I accepted a position there because they had a good feeling of how to choose people that would enjoy being with each other scientifically as well as socially.

I wish they will produce those battery for laptops soon.

As my laptop is getting old, it will never be unpluged for any time longer than an hour now. Thanks to the inventor in Texas to patent a very interesting beterry-like device than need to charge for only 5 minutes and can run a car for 500 miles. Although I still don't know weather it is a technology that can be used in a computer or not, but it sound interesting enough for such technology to make me dreaming of having a laptop that can be used for a long time after 5 minutes charging.

So far, this one is still my favorite Perl tutorial. After start reading the book "Perl Programming for Biologist", a lot of things become clearer how they work in Perl. However, it is not easy to put everything together in the context that is familiar with your work especially when you have never done it before.

First night in a pub in the charm city was very nice. We went to a club call "Red Maple" on Charle's Street. I would say it looks just like an Asian place. Although it looks pretty old inside, the ambience is very good. I love it because smoking is not allowed here. That is great, isn't it?

“ผู้จัดการตระเวนกิน” ขอพาไปร้านที่มีบรรยากาศดีๆ มีสิ่งที่น่าสนใจไม่ซ้ำแนวใคร กับร้านที่ชื่อว่า “บาหลี การ์เด้น” ที่หากเข้าไปสัมผัสข้างใน จะรู้สึกคล้ายกับหลุดเข้าไปอยู่ในเกาะบาหลีเลยทีเดียว

เริ่มตั้งแต่พนักงานทุกคนจะสวมใส่ชุดแบบชาวบาหลีมาคอยต้อนรับ สถานที่ตกแต่งด้วยน้ำพุ รูปปั้น หินแกะสลัก วางอยู่ทุกมุม ซึ่งบางตัวก็สั่งตรงมาจากบาหลีโดยเฉพาะ แถมยังมีต้นไม้เต็มไปหมด

นอกเหนือจากบรรยากาศร้านที่ร่มรื่นเย็นสบายแล้ว ถ้าว่าถึงอาหารแล้วก็ต้องยกนิ้วให้ในไอเดียที่โดดเด่น เพราะอาหารที่นี่เป็นแนว “ฟิวชั่น” คือการผสมผสานอาหารไทยกับอาหารต่างชาติ ที่ให้รสชาติและหน้าตาการจัดแต่งอาหารเป็นความแปลกใหม่ไม่เหมือนใคร

ก๋วยเตี๋ยวป่าบาลินี่

“ผู้จัดการตระเวนกิน” ไม่รอช้าเลือกเปิดเมนูแรกด้วย ก๋วยเตี๋ยวป่าบาลินี่ (100 บาท) ฟังชื่อแล้วก็นึกว่าจะเป็นก๋วยเตี๋ยวที่เป็นเส้นๆ อยู่ในน้ำข้นขลุกขลิก แต่ปรากฏว่าหน้าตาคล้ายๆเมี่ยง คือเป็นอกไก่หนานุ่มปรุงรสด้วยเครื่องเทศ ผัดเข้ากับเห็ดหอมแล้วห่อด้วยแผ่นก๋วยเตี๋ยว ก่อนจะนำไปนึ่งอีกรอบ ราดด้วยซอสสูตรพิเศษของร้าน รสชาติออกเปรี้ยวๆ หวานๆ ถูกปากดีแท้

จานถัดมาเป็น กุ้งกระหรี่หมี่กระเทียม (220 บาท) จานนี้เป็นกุ้งแม่น้ำตัวใหญ่ทอดกรอบ เนื้อแน่นกำลังดี ราดด้วยน้ำที่มีส่วนผสมของผงกระหรี่ นมสด และเครื่องเทศสมุนไพรอีกหลายอย่าง เสิร์ฟมาพร้อมกับสปาเก็ตตี้เส้นเล็กผัดกระเทียม รสชาติจานนี้เด่นที่กุ้งออกหวานมัน หอมนมสด เส้นสปาเก็ตตี้นุ่มหอมกระเทียม

ตามมาด้วย แกงส้มไข่ปลาเรียวเซียวสาหร่ายทะเล (240 บาท) ปกติปลาเรียวเซียวนี่ก็ทำแกงส้มได้อร่อยเด็ด แต่อย่างว่าร้านนี้ไม่เหมือนใคร จึงใช้เฉพาะไข่ปลาเม็ดกลมๆ ใหญ่ๆ แล้วใช้เนื้อปลากะพงและสาหร่ายทะเล มาทำเป็นแกงส้ม ถึงจะดูหน้าตาแปลกๆ แต่รับรองรสชาติเปรี้ยวแซบถึงใจ

กุ้งกระหรี่หมี่กระเทียม

หลังคาบาหลี (120 บาท) จานนี้เด่นด้วยของกินสารพัน นอกจากข้าวเหลืองที่หอมหวนด้วยกลิ่นของผงกะหรี่และกะทิ ยังมีกุ้งตัวพอเหมาะทอดกับกระเทียมกลิ่นหอมกรุ่น ไข่ต้มผ่าซีกน่ากิน เต้าหู้ทอดชุบไข่ พร้อมผักบุ้งดองรสเปรี้ยวจี๊ด และซอสผงกะหรี่สูตรเด็ดของร้าน

ปิดท้ายที่ แซลมอน 2 ทวีป (200 บาท) ปลาแซลมอนสดม้วนพอดีคำ ราดมาด้วย 2 น้ำซอสสูตรเด็ด สีสันสดใสชวนให้สงสัยว่าสองทวีปนี้ต่างกันอย่างไร ปรากฏว่าทวีปเขียวรสชาติเปรี้ยวนำ ส่วนทวีปเหลืองออกรสเผ็ดปลายลิ้น แต่ถ้าจะแทนว่า 2 สี 2 ทวีปนี้จะเป็น เอเชีย แอฟริกา อเมริกา หรือยุโรป ก็ต้องไปลองลิ้มกันเอง

ถึงจะอิ่มแสนอิ่ม แต่ก็ขอเหลือบไปดูเมนูอื่น เผื่อไว้ครั้งหน้าพาคนรู้ใจมาอีก เห็นมีเมนูแนะนำ ปลากะพงหลงทาง (240 บาท) เป็นปลากะพงทอดกรอบ ราดด้วยน้ำยำสมุนไพร ต้มแดงแกงจืด (200 บาท) กุ้งแม่น้ำตัวโต ในน้ำต้มยำสมุนไพรและยอดมะพร้าวอ่อน สีสัน ร้อนแรง เป็ดนุ่มบาลีนี่ (180 บาท) เนื้ออกเป็ดเสิร์ฟกับซอสมะขาม

และถ้าสังเกตจะเห็นว่าอาหารทุกจานจะตกแต่งด้วยดอกลีลาวดี ซึ่งถ้าใครอยากกินก็มี ลีลาวดีชุบแป้งทอด (60 บาท) ที่ออกจะแปลกแต่ว่ากินได้จริงๆ ให้ลองสั่งมากินกัน และก็มีเมนูอื่นๆ อีกเกือบร้อยรายการ แต่สำหรับใครที่อาจจะมีเมนูแปลกใหม่อยู่ในใจ ที่นี่ เขาก็มี เมนู Up to you ที่เรียกว่าให้เราสั่งได้ตามความต้องการ ซึ่งถ้าพ่อครัวสามารถทำได้ ก็จะได้กินเมนูนั้นสมใจอยาก

สำหรับ “ผู้จัดการตระเวนกิน” แล้วขอบอกได้เลยว่ามื้อนี้ถูกใจขนาดกับการมาตระเวนกิน ที่ร้าน “บาหลี การ์เด้น” เพราะได้อิ่มกับอาหารและดื่มด่ำกับบรรยากาศแบบบาหลีๆ จึงอยากจะแนะนำให้แฟนๆ มาลองตระเวนกินกันดูบ้าง เอาเป็นว่าถือโอกาสวันวาเลนไทน์นี้ ควงแขนคนรู้ใจ มาสวีทกันสองต่อสองรับรองประทับใจไม่รู้ลืม
